Nurse Talking to Patient

Care Services

Symponia Hospice provides an array of services, as well as an experienced team of healthcare professionals who meet regularly to discuss and implement an individual plan of care tailored to our patient’s wishes.

Hospice Care

Why You Should Choose Hospice

Hospice care is based on the philosophy of treating the patient by focusing on their quality of life and symptom management when curative measures are no longer available or desired. Hospice care helps to ensure patients are pain-free, surrounded, comforted and at peace as they transition.

We offer three distinct services that can cater to your needs.

Each service varies in terms of where hospice service is provided and the level of care the patient receives. In addition, we also offer palliative care. We are honored to serve patients in the Barrow, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Newton, Rockdale and Walton counties.

Routine Care

Home Nurse Examining Patient

Get routine home care in the comfort of wherever you call home; whether that be at your home, an assisted living facility, personal care home or nursing home. Our professional team will develop an individual plan of care and schedule regular home visits to ensure that your medical, social and emotional needs are met.

Inpatient or
Continuous Care

Some patients experience symptoms that are temporarily too difficult to be managed by the caregiver. In these situations, short-term management can occur in a general inpatient unit (hospital like setting), or through around-the-clock home care. After the symptoms are under control, the patient is returned to routine care.

Respite Care

Are you a caregiver in need of relief? Symponia Hospice's respite care is available when caregivers need a rest from their responsibilities. We also cater to patients who stay in a facility with 24-hour nursing care for five days. Our staff can even provide care and companionship for your loved one while you run errands or simply get the relief and support you need.

Palliative Care

Healing Arts
Healing Arts

Healing arts bring you comfort, relaxation and support for your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Through soothing massage, uplifting music and the companionship of therapy animals, you can experience relief from pain, reduce stress and find moments of peace. At Symponia Hospice, we go beyond standard care by integrating these holistic therapies, ensuring you feel nurtured, valued and truly at ease in every moment. See our array of therapeutic services and how they can benefit you below.

Music Therapy

Music Therapy

Music relaxes the mind and soothes the soul. Symponia Hospice offers complimentary music therapy service to help meet the physical, emotional and psychological needs of our hospice patients. Music therapy is a source of comfort and expression, which is inclusive of both the patient and their caregiver.

To get started, our board-certified music therapist visits patient homes and provides a music therapy assessment. She then develops an individualized plan catered to each patient's unique needs. Through singing, guitar, piano and other instruments, we give our patients emotional support and help enhance their quality of life.

Therapeutic Massage

  • Easing pain and discomfort

  • Providing stress and anxiety relief

  • Improving mobility

  • Enhance overall well-being

Sometimes, the best kind of comfort comes on four paws. At Symponia Hospice, our Pet Therapy Program brings trained therapy animals and their loving handlers to visit our patients, offering warmth, companionship, and plenty of smiles. These special visits create moments of joy, relaxation, and connection — because we believe healing happens in many forms, including through the unconditional love of a furry friend.
